Our Structural Biology Laboratory strives to understand at the molecular level the function and workings of medicinally relevant enzymes and proteins. We address questions such as those that relate to substrate (or drug) specificity, enzymatic mechanisms, and the determinants of protein-protein recognition and regulation. We use a range of tools including protein X-ray crystallography, molecular biology, and enzyme kinetics.
