Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning: CASEL is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that works to advance the science and evidence-based practice of social and emotional learning (SEL).

Center for Investigating Healthy Minds: The Center for Investigating Healthy Minds (CIHM) conducts rigorous interdisciplinary research on healthy qualities of mind such as kindness, compassion, forgiveness and mindfulness.

Health, Emotional and Behavioral Laboratory: The mission of the HEB Laboratory is to translate psychological science into action. The group’s focus is on emotional skills and competencies, health cognition and health behavior relevant to cancer and HIV/AIDS prevention, and the interactions among these areas of study.

Laboratory for Affective Neuroscience: The Laboratory for Affective Neuroscience engages in a broad program of research on the brain mechanisms underlying emotion and emotion regulation in normal individuals throughout the life course. The populations studied include normal middle-aged and older adults, infants, toddlers, children and adolescents as well as individuals with various psychiatric disorders.

Prevention Research Center: The Center aims to promote the well-being of children and youth and to reduce the prevalence of high-risk behaviors and poor outcomes in children, families and communities.

Social Development Research Group: A nationally recognized, interdisciplinary team of researchers working to understand and promote healthy behaviors and positive social development among children, adolescents, and young adults. Publications, PowerPoint presentations, and other prevention resources can be found on this site.

University of Virginia Social Development Lab: The UVA Social Development Lab, directed by Sara Rimm-Kaufman, addresses pressing questions in education science from an interdisciplinary perspective.
