Patent "US 8,394,421 B2" on Nanoparticles Synthesis

(The Route for Industrial-Scale Production of Silver Nanoparticles)

Silver nanoparticles if available in large (industrial) scale will have great applications in wound dressings and as antiseptic and disinfectant in numerous consumer goods due to their broad spectrum of antimicrobial and antiviral properties.

This patent is about the biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles by using an environmentally-friendly and industrially abundant fungus named T. Reesei. This synthesis process is the only and best route for industrial-scale production of silver and other metallic nanoparticles, which will bring down the cost of their production drastically.
