Board of Visitors

The purpose of the Board of Visitors is to support the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and to advise the Dean and College officers on various matters assuring that the College continues to offer students access to the highest quality of education. Quality is enhanced through collaborative engagement by the Board and the College’s administration of planning, programs, and other initiatives where the Board’s impact, regarding the knowledge and skills needed to be successfully prepared for professional roles in our complex world, can best be accomplished through the liberal arts and sciences.

The Board helps the College maintain focus on its vision and mission, within the context of the strategic plan developed by the University of Illinois at Chicago. They also assist the Dean in defining and implementing standards of excellence in extended college activities. This includes promoting an awareness of external environmental trends, communication and marketing, translating the value of liberal arts education in planning for professional education, participation in planning, and the identification and securing of resources to advance the College’s mission and reputation.
