As Assistant Director of Asian American Studies, Jill manages the operations of the program and works closely with ASAM faculty. She is also the Undergraduate Advisor of UIC’s AANAPISI Initiative and leads advising initiatives for Asian American, Pacific Islander, and English language learner students. Formerly an academic advisor and program specialist for the UIC Honors College, Jill won the National Academic Advising Association’s Outstanding New Advisor Award in 2013.

 

Prior to UIC, Jill was engaged in multicultural recruitment and college access work at Smith College and the University of Washington. A graduate of the University of Washington in Psychology (B.S.) and Sociology (B.A.), Jill later attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education where she earned her Ed.M. in Higher Education.
