Criteria for Selection

No one criterion will automatically make one eligible for this award. The Executive Committee considers the entire scholarly profiles of all nominees and evaluates them in light of standards applicable to the nominees’ area of study. A high record of service to the professional or college community is expected also. Criteria may include, but are not limited to: a continuous record of distinguished scholarly activity, receipt of national or international awards, significant recognition from outside the university.

Eligibility Guidelines

If nominee is a member of the LAS faculty, the nominee must hold a tenured position of at least 50% in a department of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

If the nominee is not currently a member of the LAS faculty, the nominee must be under consideration for a tenured position of at least 50% in a department of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The honor will only be conferred after the nominee has assumed employment on the LAS faculty.
