LAS Faculty Foreign Travel

The College continues to entertain requests for modest contributions toward foreign travel by tenured and tenure-track faculty in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences when it is demonstrably related to research, and when the faculty member is scheduled for significant participation in the activity. Tenure-track faculty in LAS may apply to the Junior Faculty Research and Travel support program in the college as an alternative source of funding. Here is a summary of the conditions under which support will be considered, and the application procedure.
- The College will contribute toward travel as a match to a departmental contribution.
- To spread limited resources as far as possible, an LAS contribution will not exceed $400, and we will limit faculty to one such award during the fiscal year.
- The form can be found on the LAS website by going to http://www.uic.edu/las/faculty/forms/foreigntravelrequest.shtml. However, it is not designed to be submitted electronically. Fill it out online, print it, and have it signed.
