Privacy

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 as amended, sets forth requirements regarding the privacy of student records. FERPA governs release of records maintained by an educational institution and access to those records. The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences strictly abides by these requirements. In this respect confidential information pertaining to a student, for example, grades, academic status, etc., will not be communicated to any individual, including immediate family members, without the express written permission of the student other than in the student's presence.
