Degree Programs in LAS
LAS offers a large number of degree programs and specialized curricula that lead to either the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. In addition, students can complement their major field of study with preprofessional study where the preprofessional career goal is dentistry, law, medicine, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or veterinary medicine. Students planning to enter a UIC professional program that does not first require completion of an undergraduate degree may follow the prescribed preprofessional and apply directly to the UIC professional program. These curricula include: pre-elementary education, pre-health information management, pre-human nutrition, prenursing, prepharmacy, and pre-social work. In addition, students may follow a pre-engineering curriculum in LAS intended for students who decide late on a career as an engineer. Majors can be declared at the department office offering the major. Students should meet regularly with an academic advisor in the major department as well as with advisors in LAS Academic Student Affairs
Four Year Model Plans of study are available for each of the LAS majors (except secondary education majors).
