Law-related classes taught: I focus my 104 class (Introduction to Political Philosophy) on the thought of
the framers of the American Constitution. I have also taught a graduate seminar on liberalism and religious commitment.
Law-related scholarly interests: I am interested in the history of natural law, in property rights, and
in the proper relationship between government and religion.
Law-related publications: I’ve published an essay in a collection on “freedom of association,” an essay
on natural law and narcotics prohibition, and a book on the history of distributive justice. In addition, my philosophical
companion to Adam Smith’s Wealth of Nations has a section on justice and a section on politics.
