Approval Request for BIOS 350 and 351

Many students desire to take Microbiology and its accompanying lab (BIOS 350, 351), often for pre-professional program pre-requisites. At this time, BIOS 350 and 351 are restricted courses. The following majors are eligible to register without assistance for these courses and any other 300-400 level science courses:

Physics, Teaching of Physics, Teaching of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Chemistry, Bioengineering, Biological Sciences, and Earth & Environmental Sciences

If your declared major is not listed above or you are undeclared, in order to request permission to take BIOS 350 and/or 351 you must sign up on the waitlist. You should have a pre-health educational goal (i.e. Pre-Nursing) listed in the UI-Integrate system as well. This waitlist will be available on November 3rd, the first day of advanced registration. All students will be reviewed for pre-requisites and a GPA of at least a 2.5 or higher (priority given to higher GPA’s). Review of students will begin on November 24th and students receiving permission will be emailed on Wednesday, November 26th. Please do not inquire about your status with the Biological Science department or LAS Pre-Health advisors. Students will be notified by email of their status.
