Anatomy and Physiology (KN 251/252, previously listed as MVSC 251/252)
KN/MVSC 251 is restricted to students in the College of Applied Health Sciences (AHS). All other students must request permission through the waitlist.
Students can expect information regarding registration for fall 2012 semester in late March 2012 on the LAS Pre-Health web site or Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition web site.
Human Development Across the Lifespan, NUEL 250
Students must meet the minimum requirements of a 2.75 cumulative GPA and a 2.50 science GPA in order to take the course. Priority seating will be given to those students who submitted a nursing application.
To be considered for the course by the College of Nursing, please sign-up for the course on the wait list below. Do not sign up if your GPA does not meet the requirements above.
Students will receive an email when they are granted permission to register for the course. This will likely be sent after the students’ priority registration date.
NUEL 250 is also available at Chicago community colleges and credit can be counted toward pre-requisite requirements for UIC's nursing program. You can find the transfer guides at http://www.uic.edu/depts/oar/undergrad/transfer_guides/nurs/current/index.html. Each link provides the equivalent course for NUEL 250. Students within the College of Liberal Arts and Science should speak with an advisor prior to taking a course outside of UIC.
NUEL 250 Waitlist
300-400 Level Science Courses
Many students desire to take specific science courses for pre-professional program pre-requisites. All 300-400 level science courses are restricted to science majors only. The following majors are eligible to register without assistance for 300-400 level science courses:
Physics, Teaching of Physics, Teaching of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Chemistry, Bioengineering, Biological Sciences, and Earth & Environmental Sciences
Non-science major students who desire to take 300-400 level courses must read and follow the instructions below.
For permission to take BIOS 350 or BIOS 351, please email the Biological Sciences advisor below. The wait list for Spring 2012 has closed. If seats remain you may request permission to take the course. For students who add the course late, please remember to contact the professor as soon as possible to obtain the syllabus and make up any missed work.
Students wishing to take BIOS 350 or BIOS 351 in Summer 2012 will not have a restriction during registration regardless of their declared major.
For permission to take other 300-400 Level Science Courses please contact the department offering the course. Please contact the Chemistry department regarding Biochemistry I (BIOS/CHEM 452) and the Biology department for Biochemistry II (BIOS/CHEM 454). Department contact information is listed below.
