MCAT Strategy Session
UIC students who have taken the MCAT exam and scored well will share their experiences during test preparation and the actual test date. If you plan to take the exam in 2012, you are encouraged to attend.

Letter of Recommendation Information Session
Beginning fall 2011, it is mandatory for all students to attend an information session prior to registering for a letter of recommendation file in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. This service is only available to pre-medical and pre-dental students at UIC. Please note the specific sessions based upon your educational goal. All sessions will be located in 301 University Hall.

Personal Statement Workshop
If you are a pre-health student and find yourself asking what exactly is a personal statement and why it is important, then this is the workshop for you. Come learn how to craft a quality personal statement; topics will include what admissions committees are looking for, how to avoid making some of the most common writing mistakes, and more…

Advisors will help you create an assessment of your current readiness for medical, dental or pharmacy school admissions. Specific suggestions will be provided to help strengthen areas of your future application.

Students MUST RSVP and reservations are taken on a first-come first served basis. Students will be asked to complete a short questionnaire prior to attending to aid in the assessment workshop.
Application Preparation
This workshop will help students be prepared for the upcoming summer application for medical or dental school. This session is designed for students planning to apply this summer for fall 2013 matriculation to professional school. Please note the specific sessions based upon your educational goal. The session will last for about thirty minutes and provide time for questions at the conclusion.
