New Student Orientation

UIC invites admitted students to participate in an orientation program for new students. Freshmen admitted for the fall semester are required to attend a two-day overnight program that will introduce them to numerous aspects of college and campus life. This is also the time when new students meet with deans and advisors to learn about college requirements, plan a program of study, and register for fall classes. Transfer students attend a separate but similar one-day program. These orientation sessions are offered over a wide range of dates, as indicated in the materials sent after admission. Students admitted for other than the fall term also participate in orientation programs not requiring an overnight stay.
