Class Standing
| FRESHMEN STANDING | 0-29 hours |
| SOPHOMORE STANDING | 30-59 hours |
| JUNIOR STANDING | 60-89 hours |
| SENIOR STANDING | 90+ hours |
Class standing helps you measure your progress in completing your degree. It is used by the University to determine your seniority in registering. For example:
- Juniors register before sophomores; a junior with 78 hours registers before a junior with 65 hours.
- A student who has completed and passed 34 hours is considered as a sophomore. However, if this student earned a grade of D in MATHEMATICS 121 (5 hours) and repeated MATH 121, this student would have only 29 hours that apply toward the degree (34 passing hours minus 5 hours of duplicated credit in MATH 121).
