LAS Academic Workshop

Welcome to the LAS online academic workshop. Here you will find an abundance of information designed to help you achieve better academic results

The academic advisors in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences want you to be successful at UIC and are available to assist you. Advising appointments can be made in-person at 309 University Hall or by calling 312-996-3366. Additionally, you will find a list of helpful campus resources within the online workshop.

If you were required to complete the academic workshop as a condition of your probation, you are required to do the following:

1. Complete the academic workshop by the 2nd week of classes. The academic workshop will assist you in learning how to be a more successful student and inform you of the risks involved with being on academic probation.

 

2. Complete and print the following forms from the Workshop:
• Self-Assessment Form
• GPA Calculation Worksheet
• Deficit Calculation Worksheet
• Workshop Wrap-Up

 

These forms will be reviewed in an advising appointment and may be used in future academic reviews.

 

3. Turn in the forms listed above to 309 University Hall by the end of the 2nd week of classes.

 

4. Schedule your mandatory advising appointment by the end of the 4th week of classes.  Appointments can only be made after completing steps 1-3.

An advising hold will be placed on your account preventing you from registering until you have completed all of the above requirements.Please take seriously the fact that you are on probation. There is still time to make changes and have a successful academic career. Check your UIC email regularly for important information.
