Description
Established in 1996, this cash award is given in recognition of academic excellence and initiative in actively supporting the UIC College of Nursing. The award, given at commencement, is customarily presented to one graduate student, one undergraduate student, one traditional student and one continuing student.

Selection Criteria

1. Must be nominated by faculty, staff, peers, self, or other nursing professional.
2. Enrollment in the UIC College of Nursing undergraduate or graduate degree program for at least one academic year.
3. Minimum cumulative grade point average of 4.0 in all work attempted.
4. Recognition as outstanding by both peers and faculty.
5. Active participation in college and campus activities.
6. Involvement in community activities (health, political, religious, civic, volunteer, and service organizations).
7. At least two (2) letters of support must accompany a nomination. Please have these letters forwarded to kuehnert@uic.edu.
