Outcomes
Public health nurses attending the 1st PHN Summit in 2007 were given
the charge to prioritize the healthcare issues of Illinois. PHNs
from school health, occupational health, corrections, parish, and
health departments determined the five healthcare issues listed
below for review. From this Summit, an Evidence Base Committee was
formed.
This webpage reports the results of 5 public health nursing
evidence-based practice subcommittees that have been in effect since
spring 2008. These subcommittees are a cooperative effort of the
Illinois Public Health Association - Nursing Section's Evidence Base
Committee and the University of Illinois Chicago, College of
Nursing's Advancing Public Health Nursing Education (APHNE) in
Illinois initiative.
