Teaching / Learning
Received BSN from University of Michigan in 1979, MSN and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner certification from University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1995 and post-master's certification in Nurse-Midwifery from University of Illinois at Chicago in 1999. Adjunct faculty with UIMC Nurse-Midwifery practice providing student precepting and lecturing since 2000. Began 50% position as a clinical instructor in 2007 with responsibilities for clinic practicum and site coordination; course coordinator for Health Care of Women III, Dimensions of Nurse-Midwifery & Women’s Health and Comprehensive Health Assessment for Advanced Practice courses; lectures in the Health Care of Women courses on prenatal care, labor and delivery management, vulvar disorders and anemia and hemoglobinopathy; and student advising.

Service / Practice
In full-scope practice with the UIMC Nurse-Midwifery practice. Out-patient clinical site is at the Mile Square Health Center South Shore clinic.

Personal
As a military spouse, Catherine has had the opportunity to live and practice in areas across the United States and overseas including Louisiana, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Germany and Hawaii. Still enjoys traveling but has been living in the Chicago area with her husband since 1997.
