Teaching / Learning
Kathy Dunne is a clinical instructor in the Department of Women, Children and Family Health Sciences at UIC. She had been an adjunct faculty and preceptor of nurse midwifery students from 1986 to 2006 when she joined the clinical faculty and began working with undergraduate students in the NURS 345 Maternity and Family Nursing Course. She teaches the clinical component at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. She is a recipient of the INSPIRE Award at UIC.
Service / Practice
Kathy is a Certified Nurse-Midwife and an OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner.
Member of the American College of Nurse Midwives, Member of Sigma Theta Tau and Fellow of the American College of Childbirth Educators.
She teaches the pregnancy and birth portion of the Human Sexuality Block at Crysto Rey High School and speaks at other local high schools on Birth and Midwifery.
Personal
Kathy enjoys gardening, photography, yoga, painting and poetry. She is active in her community in health promotion opportunities for mothers and children. She has a wonderful husband and two amazing sons.
