Research / Discovery
Dr. Burke's areas of scholarship include evidence-based practice and clinical decision making.

Teaching / Learning
Dr. Burke teaches at the Urbana site. Her areas of expertise include diabetes, research and evidence-based practice.

Service / Practice
Dr. Burke is an active member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE), the Illinois Society for Advanced Practice Nurses, and Sigma Theta Tau International. She currently serves on the board of directors of the AADE and is the vice-chair of the older adults working group of the National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP). She also currently serves as a consultant for an evidence-based scholar’s program for a local community hospital.

Personal
Dr. Burke enjoys golf, travel and competing in half-marathons.
