Research / Discovery
Dr. Zenk's research focuses on social determinants of health and identification of effective environmental and policy intervention to eliminate racial/ethnic and socioeconomic disparities in health. A major focus of her research is contributions of neighborhood built and social environments to obesity in urban populations. She is involved in community-based participatory research (CBPR) partnerships in Detroit and Chicago.
Teaching / Learning
Dr. Zenk teaches in the graduate public health nursing program. One of her courses is an interdisciplinary graduate seminar, Neighborhoods and Health (NUEL 563/CHSC 563).
