Dr. Hershberger provides an update about the study
Update: August 18, 2011
An important research study to discover the decision-making process of how genetically at-risk couples determine whether to accept or forgo the use of Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) has recently been completed. Dr. Hershberger, the lead investigator, and members of the research team are now working with several scientific journals to officially disseminate the findings. In the interim, aspects of the findings have been presented at regional, national, and international professional conferences.
At this time, Dr. Hershberger would like to especially thank the many couples that participated in the study and also thank the organizations that supported the research and made it possible. She and the research team remain committed to helping genetically at-risk couples navigate the decision-making process surrounding PGD use.
