International Scholarss: AIDS International Training & Research Program(AITRP)

UIC AITRP Candidates

The following categories of individuals concerned about curbing the spread of HIV, its related diseases, and the care and treatment of people with AIDS are eligible for training:

• Health professionals (RN, MD, DDS, DMD, PhD, or equivalent)
• Medical technicians and health care workers
• Allied health professionals such as behavioral scientists and social workers

Candidates willing to work in HIV/AIDS related fields have varied academic backgrounds and originate from various institutions, including universities, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector. Short-term training workshops and seminars taught by visiting international scientists and AITRP faculty extend the Program's training capacity in both the U.S. and the four participating countries.
