Primary Health Care: AmeriCorps*National Direct – Chicago Health Corps (CHC)

Applying to CHC

Each year 15 to 20 CHC Members are recruited to serve a Term of Service (9-12 months) on a full-time basis (at least 40 hours per week). Members are chosen from two pools of applicants: Health professions students and community residents. All participants are selected based on their history of community service, interest in pursuing a health career, personal references, and their ability to complete the program. The minimum eligibility requirements are: high school diploma or GED equivalent, 18 years of age, and U.S. citizen or permanent resident status.
