Primary Health Care: AmeriCorps*National Direct – Chicago Health Corps (CHC)

Member Benefits

CHC members are required to perform 1700 hours of service over the course of 9-12 months to be eligible for an education award. This direct service includes activities such as health education workshops and other hands-on activities. In return for their Term of Service, CHC Members receive a living allowance, child care services, limited health benefits, and public transportation passes. At the conclusion of their Term of Service, members receive an educational award ($4,725) which may be used for college, vocational training, or to repay student loans.
