Why is my support important?

Your support enables the College to attract and retain the highest caliber of faculty, students and programming through student scholarships, resources for bringing cutting edge advances in clinical training and technology into the classroom, and special initiatives that expose our students and faculty to the field’s leading scholars.

Why is unrestricted giving important?

An unrestricted gift is simply a gift with no restrictions from the donor on how it is to be used. Such gifts support the college by allowing the Dean flexibility in determining how best to use the funding where it can have the greatest impact, address priorities, and bring immediate benefits to the college as a whole by supporting:

• Student scholarships
• Curricular development
• Faculty development and recruitment
• Technology upgrades in classrooms and laboratories

Can I support a specific program?

Absolutely! To help departments and programs meet their most pressing needs, many alumni and friends choose to designate a gift to an established and specialized fund. Learn more.

How can I make a gift?

You can make an online gift right now with your credit or debit card, or you can mail your gift (check, credit or debit card) to the following address:

How can I double or even triple my gift?

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs that supplement their employees’ charitable donations. Your company may match, double, or even triple your initial gift. You can also check your company’s giving policy to see if you’re eligible. See if your employer will match your gift.

Eligible donors for a corporate matching gift may include:

• A current, full-time or part-time employee
• A retired employee
• Spouse of an employee
• Widow and/or widower of a former employee

How will my gift be recognized?

One to two weeks after your gift is received, a tax receipt will be mailed to you from the University of Illinois Foundation. You will also receive a personized acknowledgement from the College of Nursing, and you will be listed in the annual honor roll recognition in the College magazine for alumni and friends, Vital Signs. If you prefer not to be listed in the annual honor roll recognition, please contact Nancy Herman at 312.996.1736 or nherman@uic.edu.
