CBS Covers Disparities in Breast Cancer Deaths
Dr. Carol Estwing Ferrans appeared on CBS Channel 2 in Chicago, saying: "We must eliminate cost as a barrier." She co-chaired task force for finding solutions to the racial divide in early detection and treatment of breast cancer. Read story and see video here. $4 Million Nursing Grant for At-risk Premature Infants!
Dr. Rosemary White-Traut received a $4.1 million federal grant to develop ways to improve the early growth and development of premature infants. Read more here!

New Forensic Nursing Program!
Dr. Barbara Simmons received a federal grant for developing a forensic nursing program to prepare advanced practice nurses to assist victims of crime in urban, rural and all medically underserved areas. Read more here!
