Advanced Practice Palliative Care Nursing Campus Certificate
About the Program
The Advanced Practice Palliative Care Nursing Campus Certificate is sponsored by the UIC College of Nursing and has been developed to educate nurses to better meet the needs of caring for patients who are seriously ill and dying and who require end-of-life and palliative care treatment. It is grounded in a holistic perspective that recognizes that the individual is part of a family, a community and a society.
Master Students Dual Certificate
Master's students will enroll in one of the following programs at the UIC College of Nursing. They will declare a specialized concentration in palliative and end-of-life-care. Students electing to take the three additional online courses will have to have at least one of their clinical practicum courses in a palliative care setting.
- Acute Care
- Adult or Geriatric Nurse Practitioner
- Perinatal or Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist
Post-Master's Students Certificate
Post-master's palliative care students will take the three online palliative care courses and will need to find their own clinical hours for credentialing (work hours may be acceptable).
Continuing Education Students
Nurses and other health professionals (in disciplines such as Social Work, Medicine and Pharmacy) may take these three palliative care online courses for CE credits through the Innovative Healthcare Institute at the College of Nursing. Please visit the IHCI Web site for further information.
