Which Program is for Me?

UIC College of Nursing offers a variety of options either to begin or further your education in nursing. Use the table below to determine which program best suits you.

IF you have a... AND are interested in... THEN you should consider...
high school diploma or some college credit, earning a bachelor's degree in nursing and becoming a registered nurse, BSN program
diploma or associate’s degree in nursing (and are an RN) earning a bachelor's degree in nursing, RN-BSN program
bachelor's degree in nursing (and are an RN), becoming a nurse practitioner, nurse midwife, or clinical nurse specialist, or earning an advanced nursing degree, MS program
earning a PhD, PhD program
earning a DNP, DNP program
bachelor's degree outside of nursing (and are an RN), earning an advanced nursing degree, MS program in combination with one to four transition courses
bachelor's or master's degree outside of nursing, earning a bachelor's degree in nursing and becoming a registered nurse, BSN program
becoming a nurse practitioner, nurse midwife, or clinical nurse specialist, or earning an advanced nursing degree, Graduate Entry Program (GEP)
master’s degree in nursing (and are an RN), earning a PhD, PhD program
earning a DNP, DNP program
earning an additional master's or post-master's certification, Post-master's program
