Which Program is for Me?

UIC College of Nursing offers a variety of options either to begin or further your education in nursing. Use the table below to determine which program best suits you.

IF you have a... AND are interested in... THEN you should consider...
high school diploma or some college credit, becoming a registered nurse, BSN program.
diploma or associate’s degree in nursing (and are an RN) earning a bachelor's degree in nursing, RN-BSN program.
bachelor's degree in nursing (and are an RN), becoming a nurse practitioner, becoming a clinical nurse specialist, or earning an advanced nursing degree, MS program.
earning a PhD, BSN-PhD program.
  earning a DNP, BSN-DNP program.
bachelor's degree outside of nursing (and are an RN), earning an advanced nursing degree, MS program in combination with three bridge courses.
bachelor's or master's degree outside of nursing, becoming a registered nurse, BSN program.
becoming a nurse practitioner, becoming a clinical nurse specialist, or earning an advanced nursing degree, Graduate Entry Program (GEP).
master’s degree in nursing (and are an RN), earning a PhD, PhD program.
earning a DNP, MS-DNP program.
  earning an additional master's or post-master's certification, Post-master's program.
