Teaching Certificate Program
About the Program
The Teaching Certificate program provides academic preparation
for a nursing education career in a variety of contexts. The
courses introduce students to educational theory related to teaching
methods, and student evaluation in the classroom, clinical, and
online settings; curriculum design and evaluation; and issues
in nursing education administration. The practicum course (90
contact hours) usually taken last in the sequence is individualized
to students needs, interests, and teaching background providing
students the opportunity to apply what they have learned in the
program.

The program consists of four courses (3 semester hours each)
which can be completed in four semesters of part-time study.
Courses are offered during the fall, spring, and summer terms
are conducted
online. Students enrolled in graduate study may take individual
courses as electives.
