Chances are that this was originally a wood-frame home. Houses in
Bridgeport have been improved bit by bit -- over several decades in many
cases. Note that the lot to the right of the home is vacant and has been
acquired as part of the home still here. There are several cases of empty
lots next door to a home that have been recombined into larger lots. Some
of the housing decline in Bridgeport, then, does not represent decay as
some seem to imply. Examples such as this home, in fact, say the opposite.
Like most old Bridgeport homes, this one is well maintained.
