About ADA for Illinois

ADA for Illinois is a collaboration of people with disabilities, business leaders, service providers and government agencies that educates about and promotes full implementation of the ADA throughout the state of Illinois.

Funding for ADA for Illinois is provided by a grant (NIDRR, USEDH133D60011) through the Great Lakes ADA Center, located at the University of Illinois at Chicago in the Department of Disability and Human Development.

Since it inception, ADA for Illinois has

• developed a Small Business Advisor web site with ADA resources for employers and business owners,
• produced an ADA Title II training in conjunction with the Illinois Library System,
• produced training sessions on the new Illinois Accessibility Code for persons with disabilities, and
• promoted ADA awareness through representation at statewide conventions, and
• provided legislative updates and continuing education sessions for members on ADA-related topics.
