About the Great Lakes
ADA Forum
Welcome to the Great
Lakes ADA Forum. We hope you enjoy your visit and leave with
some valuable information about the Americans with Disabilities Act.
This site is primarily used as a component of the DBTAC ADA
Distance Learning Program. Please review the following information
before logging into the Great Lakes ADA Forum for the first time.
-
This site is administered and moderated by
the Great Lakes Disability & Business Technical Assistance Center.
-
The site uses ParaChat
by Paralogic Software and requires:
-
a Java enabled browser
-
Windows 95 users: Netscape 2.0, or higher.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or higher
-
MAC users must use MS Internet Explorer 3.01b,
or Netscape 4.0 - it will not work reliably with Netscape 3.0.
-
Win 3.1 users can use Netscape 3.01 Beta with
Java for Windows 3.1.
-
During Distance Learning Programs, "speak
mode" will be restricted to the session moderator, invited speaker(s),
and real-time caption reporter.
-
The moderator will designate time for questions
specific to the session topic. To ask a question, type: *page.
(Be sure to include the asterisk.) A "page window" will appear.
Type the question in the narrow rectangular box at the bottom of the new
window. Hit "enter/return" to send the question to the moderator.
Questions will be qued into the session as they are received. Thus
questions may not be immediately responded to or may be combined with another
previously asked question.
-
The site has been designed to send out a "pulse"
every 5 minutes to users. The pulse is designed to keep your link
to the ADA Forum active. In the event your connection is terminated,
simply log in again. If this problem persists consult the ParaChat
Frequently Asked Questions.
-
The Great Lakes Disability and Business Technical
Assistance Center reserves the right to discontinue privileges for users
interupting sessions or using the site for activity other than its original
intended professional use.
