Welcome to the official website of the 28th annual conference of the Association for Moral Education. The meeting will be held in Chicago, Illinois from November 7 to 10, 2002.

Conference Theme

"Conflict, Contradiction, and Contrarian Elements
in Moral Development and Education"

This conference is sponsored by the College of Education of the University of Illinois at Chicago and its Office for Studies in Moral Development and Education, and the UIC Department of Psychology Collaborative for Academic and Social Emotional Learning (CASEL).

The meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn City Centre, located two blocks east of North Michigan Avenue and within walking distance of Navy Pier in Chicago. The hotel, renovated in 2000, received a three star rating from both Mobile and AAA. The hotel features rooms with lakefront views, and complimentary membership in one of the city's top health clubs (with an indoor pool). The hotel location features many restaurants and cafés in one of Chicago's most vibrant downtown areas. (More)

Kohlberg Memorial Lecture

Elliot Turiel, Professor of Cognition and Development at the University of California, Berkeley, will deliver this year's Kohlberg Memorial Lecture entitled Resistance and Subversion in Everyday Life
