This year's meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn City Centre in downtown Chicago, located two blocks east of North Michigan Avenue and within walking distance of Navy Pier (map).

"An exceptional Holiday Inn in the heart of an exceptional city," the three-star Holiday Inn City Centre, renovated in 2000, offers 500 rooms and suites and one of the finest hotel-connected private sports and health clubs. The Lakeshore Athletic Club features an indoor heated swimming pool, whirlpool, steam room and sauna, as well as a complete weight room and cardiovascular center, all complimentary to hotel guests. Fees apply to massages and use of indoor tennis courts and handball courts (reservations required). Of course, the Club provides lockers, locks and towels. A Sports Pass, needed for entry to the Club, can be obtained at the Front Desk or Concierge Desk. The Club is for hotel guests only.

The hotel also features excellent banquet and meeting facilities, specially equipped with state-of-the-art audio visual aids.

On its 26 floors, the Holiday Inn City Centre offers rooms with either two double beds or a king size bed. Most rooms have great views of either the city or Lake Michigan. Each room is air conditioned and comes with a "smart desk" workstation, two multi-line speaker telephones and data ports, a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, coffee maker with complimentary coffee or tea, clock radio, color TV with free HBO, and paid movie channels. Video check-out service is available at the Front Desk, as are complimentary safety boxes. Vending and complimentary ice machines can be found on every floor.

The Holiday Inn City Centre also features five barrier-free rooms, and TDD machines are available upon request.

AME 2002 delegates can book their accommodation at the special conference rate of $143 per room per night (single or double occupancy). Chicago Hotel Tax of 14.9% will be added to your bill. Please quote group code "UI6MH" (or "AME Moral Education") when making your reservation.

Reservations must be guaranteed either by a deposit for the first night's lodging, or a credit card number. The hotel accepts American Express, Carte Blanche, Diners Club, Discover, JCB, Master Card, and Visa. In order to benefit from the special conference rate, please make your reservations as early as possible, especially if you are planning to arrive before November 5 or depart after November 11. Room types are based upon availability at time of reservation request. Reservations made after October 6, 2002 are subject to availability. Check in time is 3 pm; check out time is 12 noon.

Cancellation Policy: Reservations may be cancelled or revised prior to 4 pm on the date of arrival. All reservations that are not cancelled or registered on the night of arrival will automatically be cancelled after that night, and will be charged for that night. This will automatically cancel all future nights for those reservations.

There are two dining outlets at the Holiday Inn City Centre, both located on the lobby level. The Centre Café is open daily from 6 am to 11 pm. Breakfast buffet and lunch is served on weekdays, while dinner is served every day from 5 to 11 pm.

Corner Copia Deli, open from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm on weekdays and from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm on weekends, boasts freshly baked croissants and breakfast pastries, flavored coffees, teas, café latte, espresso and cappuccino, as well as specialty salads, soups, and unique sandwiches. Eat in or take out.

Play a game of pool or sit back and relax with your favorite beverage, watching sports events on big screen at Winners Sports Bar, also on the lobby level, open from 11 am to 2 am daily. Food can be ordered off the appetizer menu from 11:30 am to 11 pm, and complimentary buffet is available to hotel guests Monday through Friday from 5 to 7:30 pm.

The Holiday Inn City Centre is only a short walk to some of the world's greatest stores, restaurants, cafés and recreation in one of Chicago's most vibrant downtown areas. You can shop Michigan Avenue's Magnificent Mile with its world-class department stores and many speciality shops, or walk to Navy Pier, the city's most popular family tourist attraction.

Airport Shuttle Service is available to both O'Hare and Midway airports for a small fee. Please contact the concierge for details. Taxi fare to O'Hare is about $35; to Midway about $20.

The concierge is located in the lobby across the Front Desk. They can help arrange tickets to concerts, sports events, theaters, limousine services, locate specific items or stores, make reservations at various restaurants, and assist you in basic directions on how to get around the city.

Hotel guests may exchange foreign currency for US dollars at the Front Desk at no charge. Personal checks up to $50 per day ($100 for Priority Club members) can also be cashed at the Front Desk.

Guests can receive or send faxes directly from the Front Desk. There is no fee for receiving faxes (fax number: 1.312.787.6238).

Indoor parking is available to registered guests for a fee (currently $20 per 24 hours, which includes in and out privileges).
