UIC UNITED: Annuitants Association
The UIC chapter of the State Universities Annuitants Association (SUAA), with over 1,600 members, exists to promote the individual and collective interests and welfare of its members and of all UIC retirees. It endeavors, in association with 48 other chapters in Illinois, to achieve legislation favorable to retirees and to keep members informed of pending legislation that can be of importance to them. In addition, the Chapter disseminates current information on issues of general concern to senior citizens, provides a liaison between retirees and the campus administration, provides opportunities for socializing among members, and works to assure adequate funding of the Illinois State Universities Retirement System (SURS).

Tuition Waivers

Admission Fees
Reduced rates for campus programs, events, and services are often available to employees and their companions. Use your I-Card to obtain these discounts.
Athletic Events
The 10,000-seat UIC Pavilion (Harrison at Racine) is the site of men and women
intercollegiate basketball games, as well as a variety of concerts and family events. Tickets are available from the box office (413-5740) or Ticketmaster outlets. Swimming, gymnastics, and other varsity athletic events are held in the Physical Education Building at 901 West Roosevelt Road. For ticket information, please call 996-2772. Student Centers
UIC has two union buildings on campus: Student Center West, located on the west side of campus, and Student Center East, located on the east side. Both facilities offer several dining options, art galleries, lounges, bookstores, and recreational facilities, as well as a variety of other activities. Cultural Events and Activities
The Campus Programs Department, along with the Student Centers, offers a wide variety of events for both students and staff. RTA Transit Checks
The Parking Office can also provide you with information on RTA Transit Checks. This program allows employees to pay for work related travel expenses with pre-tax dollars.
Commuter Bus/Campus Shuttle
Facilities Management offers a commuter bus service that provides transportation between several parts of campus and the Ogilvie Transportation Center and Union Station during morning and evening rush hour. Tickets for this bus can be purchased at the Events Centers located in Student Center West and Student Center East. In addition, there is regular campus bus which provides free shuttle service through the east, west and south campuses of UIC. You must show your I-card to board the bus.

Recreational Facilities
Campus Recreation offers three facilities on campus: The new Sport and Fitness Center located on the east side of campus, the west side recreation facility located in Student Center West and the Physical Education Building (PEB). Each facility offers swimming, weight rooms, cardio equipment, and may offer exercise classes. Campus Recreation also offers personal training and fitness assessments at their Human Performance Lab. Faculty and staff may join the facilities at a discounted rate and can pay for their membership through payroll deduction.

Information and Employment Center
(IEC)
The Information and Employment Center is designed to help current employees access online information such as NESSIE so that they may view their pay stubs, request exams and more. Potential employees may use the center to complete on-line job applications. The Information and Employment Center is located in Room 109 HRB, 715 South Wood Street.
Benefits Center
Assistance, direction, or advice from counselors is available for insurance and other benefits related problems or inquiries at the Benefits Center, Room 305 Human Resources Building, 715 South Wood, 996-6471, or at

The College Partner Recognition program, or the Ford X Plan, offers discounts to UI employees. These discounts apply when purchasing or leasing eligible vehicles at participating Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Volvo and Land-
Rover dealers. To participate in the program, employees need to know the University of Illinois College Partner Recognition Code: UNVIL. Next, obtain a PIN (Personal Identification Number) by visiting the Ford Partner web site or calling (877) XPLAN-00 (877-975-2600).
