Assuring STEM Credential Expansion through Nurturing Diversity (ASCEND) is a first year program designed to enhance the experience of incoming UIC students.
Funded by the National Science Foundation (#0525582), the primary component of the program is to support 50 incoming first year students pursuing STEM majors; majors in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Major options at UIC include: biological sciences, chemistry, earth and environmental sciences, engineering, mathematics, physics and psychology.
ASCEND Scholars Program
