Fall Semester
| There are four major components of the fall ASCEND program coupled with assistance from the ASCEND support units and the on campus advising offered through the College of Engineering and College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. | ![]() |
Clustered Course Registration
ASCEND students are offered the opportunity to register in cluster groups for science, engineering, mathematics and English courses that are commonly taken by first year students. This is meant to reinforce students' comfort in transitioning from high school to college.

Academic Advising & Tutoring
ASCEND scholars meet with the program's academic advisor at least two times a semester to discuss academic support and career information. In addition, tutoring is available to assist each scholar in mathematics and chemistry when needed during the academic year. This advising supplements the advising offered through the students' affiliated college and department.
ASCEND Fall Seminar
ASCEND scholars participate in the course seminar during the fall semester. This seminar is designed to compliment students' interest and professional development within their majors. Aspects of this seminar add more depth to many of the ideas visited during the summer seminar.
