The Prestigious Silver Telly Award Winning documentary entitled, "In
Search of De Sable" Produced by Bill Kirtis Productions 2003and
primiered on CBS. "In Search of De Sable," tells the story
of the Pioneer Jean Baptisste Pointe De Sable, considered the father
of modern Chicago,and the African Scientific Research Institutes history
making work to exhume his remains from a Missouri cemetery. The documentary
also tells the little known story of free African American communities
in Illinois before the Civil War. "In Search of De Sable"
