Help Us Celebrate Disability Pride on July 25!

UIC is pleased to be a part Chicago's Sixth Annual Disability Pride
Parade. The Disability Pride Parade will begin promptly at 11 a.m. on
Saturday, July 25. Participants will meet at the staging area at Van
Buren
and Plymouth Court, between Dearborn and State, at 10:45. The
parade will end with a rally at the Daley Plaza at Washington and
Dearborn at 12:30 p.m. The parade if free and everyone is invited to
come. Those who will be participating from UIC at the Disability Pride
Parade are DHD, IDHD, CCSPD, and the ADA great lakes center.

The overall mission of the Disability Pride Parade is:

To change the way people think about and define “disability”;
To break down and end the internalized shame among people with Disabilities; and
To promote the belief in society that Disability is a natural and
beautiful part of human diversity in which people living with
Disabilities can take pride.

We welcome everyone to join us!
