Teen Pep is a highly successful peer education program dealing with all types of abuse to adolescents with particular emphasis on date rape and dating violence. The presentation will be led by the two adult coordinators along with four high school students.

The coordinators will provide a description of the mechanics of the Teen Pep program which is for adolescents by adolescents. Discussion will take place regarding the importance and success in disseminating valuable information to teens using peer education.

In addition, the coordinators will share their experiences in training junior and senior high students to be mini-experts in the dynamics of abuse and leading interactive discussion. They will provide tools for empowering and enabling adolescents as well as training teens to train themselves.

The four high school students will give a demonstration of the Teen Pep program as they present it in their schools. They will cover the entire continuum of abuse as well as communication in dating situations. They will use role plays followed by interactive discussion with program participants. This will be fact paced and energetic with much dialogue between teens and adults.





The TEEN Pep program is funded by The Toledo Hospital with a mission to reduce the incidence of teen pregnancy and dating violence through values clarification, peer education and support.
