UIC Medical Center Clinical Nutrition

The dietetics staff of the UIC Department of Clinical Nutrition (DCN) provides nutrition education for low-income populations. In partnership with DCN and the Nutrition Wellness Center, CPHP augments and extends nutrition education services by linkining clients serviced by UIC with home nutrition education services, and community nutrition education programs provided in salons anand churches. UIC Medical Center maintains a computerized medical record that is used by CPHP to track the medical outcomes (weight change, number of nutrition-related disorders, and the outcomes of nutrition education programs provided at UIC and in the community. CPHP also provides evaluation services and continuing updates on nutrition education topics.
