Roosevelt Rd. Chicago, Illinois parking on the far side of the circular drive any questions call: Carol Gill or Larry Voss (312) 355-0550 PLEASE SHARE THIS INFORMATION THANKS!!! Please feel free to bring snacks and goodies to share with the group!!! DACC Minutes 11/18/97 The questionaire. Those attending voted according to "general consensus" as to what will be included; (ie.-we voted according to a majority of tonight's meeting attendance, and this will stand.) -Of adding a question about P.A. services to the questionaire-7 yes, 5 open ended, 2 abstain... Of adding a question for informational purposes (ie sign language interpreting on the survey). There was much discussion and debate, but the vote was--4 yes, 6 no, 3 abstain . The group also voted by general consensus to add to legal papers, Ginger Lane's sentence..."need not have expertise about disability arts and culture to be involved with center". Prior to this, the sentence read "group" not "center". Alana Y. Smith pointed out that "center" was focus, so the word "group" was dropped. This "questionaire" will be mailed out. Drew Browning suggested the "questionaire" should go on web page. The contacts listed on the web page will be Carol Gill and Larry Voss for many reasons; email(lvoss.@uic.interacc) snailmail (ivdh uic), tty, & a professional affiliation with the "University". The web page can be found d at htp;//www.com.uicfedu/orgs/dacc Committees--three basic committees created in October---(1) outreach, (2) fund raising, (3) logistics... A fourth, the program committee was formed tonight. Consisting of--Ginger Lane, Jo Holzer, Amy Serpe, Alana Smith, & Anna Stonum. It was decided that each committee will decide their own chairs. Since there are no chairs as of yet to call the committee meetings, members volunteered to call the first meeting. They are Amy Serpe-program comm.; Mike Ervin-logistics; Melinda Morrissey-fundraising; Kathleen Winter-outreach. Space---L. Voss spoke with Dale Mitchell of UIC. He said there was space available in the 1640 W. Roosevelt. There was a minimum of 60 x 30 of working/art/rec space. 15 x 20 for one office, and 10 x 12 for two offices. But we must justify everything! Be specific according to how much play-space, office-space, and how much time and space per easel. But, we need to tie into UIC,(re C. Gill). But that we would be assured to get space if we got a commitment from new art center. Other--D.Browning brought up that there was concern from some members about a lack of attendance at the last meeting.--The meetings being held too frequently, bad weather, & illness were cited as reasons. A lack of non disabled participants was attributed to similar reasons. Another problem area is the lack of minutes received by members. Currently L. Voss/C. Gill's office at IVDH is handling minutes and agenda. But they are only being sent to email and fax, not to snailmail (regular post), due to cost and time. The group decided it was important that each member receive minutes/agendas before meeting time. A new snailmail list was being modified. G. Lane announced that on Dec. 5 the Women 's Health and Resource Center (WHRC) at the Rehab Institute of Chicago (RIC) will be holding a day long seminar on self-esteem, beginning at 10 AM. On Sat. Dec 13, the WHRC will hold a seminar on alternative health resources. For more information call Don Olsen at RIC. Meeting adjourned. Next meeting will be Dec. 16 at 5:30. Anna Stonum Carol J.
