Q: (Initially posted on December 24, 2002) FROM REBECCA Z. IN CA
Because I took AP biology this year instead of Chemistry there is a chance I won't take chemistry in high school, is that a problem for getting into collage?

A: FROM MENTOR MARTY CHINTALA IN RI
Rebecca, As long as you do well in school, I think you will be okay. I
didn't take chemistry in high school (granted it was a long time ago)
and I did fine. You might be a little behind some of the other
students, but you should be able to take general chemistry when you get
to college. I had to take general chemistry (2 semesters) and organic
chemistry for my biology degree and was able to take all of them in
college. You didn't mention what you were thinking of majoring in when
you go to college, so my guess is that it isn't chemistry! Good luck!
