Math shows up everywhere in everyday life
That's what makes it so crazy!!!!
all these abstract ideas pop up all over the place
in what you do and in nature.
When you're figuring out how long it will take you
to get from one place to another,
when you need to find the shortest path to your
destination,
or when you need to figure out how much food to buy
per person that you're making dinner for,
or when you need to get change for bus fare, for all
these things you use math.
Math can be applied to the way that ferns grow and
trees grow, it can be used to describe coastlines and
seashells and our sense of beauty (people have a
strange affinity for golden rectangles, if you look at
one it just feels right)
Then later, when you wonder about the chaotic patterns
of the cream in your coffee or the mixing of the
oceans and air and you want to model them, people use
math. When you take a chance on anything you use
statistics and probability to guide your choices.
You'll usually pick something that has a probability
in your favor.
this is just the beginning!!!
wait, let me think about it some more, and
you'll definately see another response from me
later this afternoon.
math can be used in practically everything!!!!
