Hi!Hannah, I was thinking how did you come up with this question?
as it is an
intersting question to think!! But it is true at present DERMATOLOGY
is a
field in demand. The main reasons are it pays well for the
treatment the
physician provides(every little procedure a dermatologist
does is expensive),
most importantly it has no odd working hours because of the
kind of ailments a
patient comes with to the doctor(there is generally very low
number of life
threatening emergencies in comparision to most of the other
fields of
medicine-where physician on call is always on a run). This
is why it is
attractive to most physicians to apply for the fellowship
which leads to more
applicants for the same spot since it helps a physician to
lead a less
stressful personal life.
