Why aren't there miniature cats?

I would say that house cats are already miniatures. Compared to their
cousins the lions, tigers, bobcat, etc, house cats are really tiny.
How small does an animal need to be in order to be called miniature?
This is not an answer to your question, just another question to
provoke thought.

Hi Amanda,
I didn't know about munchkin cats, either! So, when I read that there were
some, I did a search. I found a website for you. Actually, I found multiple
ones! I did a search on Yahoo! with the string "munchkins cats".

Here's the website I looked at. It had photos!

Hi Amanda in MO,

To answer your question, there are minature cats. They are called munchkins.
These cats have extremely short legs and small bodies. They were developed about
5-7 years ago. They have an association, but they are not too popular.
Unfortunately, these cats have a lot of musculoskeletal problems associated with
their dwarfed extremities. If you want to see one, I am sure you can find a web
site about munchkin cats, I do not know any off hand. Great question!!!
