Q: (Initially posted on 8/20) FROM MENTEE REBECCA H. IN WI
What is the difference between a wildlife biologist and a wildlife
ecologist?

A: FROM MENTOR AMY MCMILLAN. FOR BIO. CLICK HERE.
Rebecca, an ecologist studies the interrelationships of organisms and
their relationship with the environment. A biologist studies living
organisms and systems. The 2 are quite close but the major difference is
that ecologists are interested in relationships and biologists are more
interested in individual organisms. Of course, you can't really study
individual organisms without taking into account the relationship it has
with other organisms and environments ... and ecologists really know
biology and biologists really know ecology. Wildlife biologists and
ecologists are interested in wild organisms and environments (not urban
or agricultural life, for example). Wildlife biology jobs are often to
study particular organisms in the wild while wildlife ecologist are
often looking at landscape-level issues, like interactions of plants and
animals in a wild area...
