A: FROM MENTOR KRISTIN TAGHON IN IL
Hi, Kerala

I did a search on www.google.com with the phrase "too much of one mineral" and
found the url, http://1stholistic.com/Nutrition/hol_nutr-toomuch-supplement.htm

It talks about how taking too much one one mineral can be toxic to your body.
And then your body can start malfunctioning.

This url, http://1stholistic.com/Nutrition/hol_nutr-toxic-dosages.htm has a
table of minerals and what happens if you take too much.

The minerals you specifically asked about :

iron - The toxic dosage is 25mg. Causes Intestinal upset, interferes with zinc
and copper absorption, loss of appetite, not safe for those with iron storage
disorders such as hemosiderosis, idiopathic hemochromatosis, or thalassemias.
Toxic build-up in liver, pancreas, and heart.

Vitamin A
Vitamin A, acute (infant) - Toxic dose 75,000 IU Causes Anorexia, bulging
fontanelles, hyperirritability, vomiting

Vitamin A, acute (adult) - 2 million IU Causes Headache, drowsiness, nausea,
vomiting

closing, long bone growth retardation

vision, loss of hair, bleeding lips, cracking and peeling skin, muscular
